A Mobile Tool for the Whole Family
Previct Care provides the family with structure, insight, and support to create a safer everyday life together. The tool can be used in collaboration with a therapist to provide a more complete picture of the entire family’s well-being, strengthen trust, promote positive habits, and create long-term structure in daily life.

Support for Family Members with Previct Care
Previct Care provides an opportunity for family members of the person with addiction to participate in the treatment via the Previct App on their phone by answering wellness questions and receiving support in their experiences of being close to someone with addiction issues. Previct Care helps healthcare providers create a more comprehensive picture of how the entire family is doing and what support may be needed.
It is also possible for the family member to follow results from the family member’s sobriety tests or receive notifications for missed tests or detected intoxication.
Digital Support and Real-Time Follow-Up
The foundation of Previct Care is the Previct Care Portal that therapists use to remotely monitor family members’ well-being in real-time. Family members download the Previct App on their phone and log their well-being through customized questions about their condition and complete tasks such as writing or recording in a diary.
Gives Children the Freedom to be Children
We must not forget that addiction sometimes comes with a series of serious consequences for children in affected families. This can range from missed dinners to witnessing or being subjected to violence. Previct Care enables children not only to report their own well-being but also to raise alerts in vulnerable situations, such as when suspecting a parent’s relapse. It can also help children feel secure that their mother or father is actually sober, giving them the confidence to invite friends over.

“Med ett digitalt stöd höjer vi barnens röst. Vi skapar en kanal för trygghet och minskar känslan av ensamhet/utsatthet. Previct Care möjliggör insyn på barnets villkor.”

Children Growing up in Families with Addiction
Many children testify to a childhood marked by parental addiction, and research shows that the consequences can persist well into adulthood. At the same time, both children and parents wish the problems had been recognized earlier – and that support had come sooner. The earlier we identify and act, the better chance we have of providing children with the security and support they need.
There is also hope. Research shows that a stable and supportive environment helps strengthen children’s resilience. Having at least one close and stable relationship with a supportive, protective, and engaged parent, relative, or other trusted adult outside the family can make a crucial difference for the child.
Many Children Live in Families where an Adult Has Risky Consumption
According to a calculation based on HLV, approximately 400,000 children were registered in a household with an adult who has risky alcohol consumption in 2020. This means that approximately 1 in 6 children in Sweden has a close relationship with an adult at increased risk for physical, psychological, and social harm.
